I got my 04GT and it has the SAT button on the stereo. How do you activate the satellite option? Do you need a new antenna, hardware, or is it just someone flipping the switch somewhere??

 

You have to call and activite it. www.xmradio.com i think has the phone number to call. They'll tell you how to find your radio's # and then it takes about 15 minutes to activate. You have to pay monthly for it.

 

I was referred by the ford dealer to a local stereo shop. They purchase the factory kit and do the install for $400. Hmmmmmmmm.

Does anyone have a picture of their satellite antenna??

 

The SAT button does nothing unless you had the Satilite radio unit installed from the factory or dealer and Ford was/is offering Sirius not XM. $400 is alot of money, but I've done some research and the best price for the receiver and install kit was about $250. It didn't seem to difficult to install especially since it is a dealer part and those are usually modular.

 

Check Ebay as well for the kit and install it yourself. Shouldn't be a bad install whatsoever.

 

I purchased one on EBAY and installed in about 30 minutes. Easy intall.
