Exactly. Car was parked on base, storm was coming in, I went and drove my beater V6 to bring the Bullitt back to a friend's garage, backtracked due to standing water several times, but the last possible way to get to the house, I had no choice but to creep through a puddle. The JLT true CAI, with the filter conveniently placed behind the foglight opening (Bullitts came sans FL's), sucked in enough to do some pretty serious damage.

It was. In hindsight, yeah, I am an idiot and should have never risked it. But it is what it is, lesson learned (the hard way), and on to bigger and better builds...

That's the plan... eventually. My money tree isn't blooming enough to support that right now though. For now, I've got a hookup on getting my heads ported to the Livernois Stage 2 specs, and I'm getting some nasty aggressive cams custom ground. That should get me in the mid 300's. Once I can get the TFS heads, I'm really hoping to break 400...

I honestly can't say prior to this thread ive ever seen a mod motor rod (stock that is) that bent. Everyone I've seen just broke. Thats definitely a piece to save and put up on the shelf in the garage however

You see, the thing is is MOST of the time they fail because of someone doing something stupid. In that case, you don't get a "text book" failure. I like keeping stuff like that around my desk

hmm.. in my last oil change, it looked like there might have been water in my oil, at least on the cap... i also have the JLT true CAI and my engine just started making tickin noises...

they are off and on, sometimes its bad, othertimes its almost not there at all or just plain normal and fine. its been good lately, ocassionally being there at startup and then going away

Don't know if it would be related, but it's always a possibility I suppose. If you've got that JLT, just be deathly afraid of going within 500 yds of standing water. lol

I've never really gone through massive quantities of water, just whatevrs on the road after a rain. when places are flooded, i find a way around for the most part, but what i have "forded" was never more than an inch or two dep. sigh..

maybe i should put it back to stock

I've been through a few good ones. When I was at school near the beach and we got hurricanes the roads flooded like crazy. I had one bad time I had to go through. My car didn't run right for like 2 weeks. Thankfully nothing happened like that.

Man seeing that rod brought back memories. My dad blew the engine in his 1990 T-Bird Super Coupe that way. Road was dark, storm sewer grates were plugged with leaves and he drove right into a three foot deep "puddle". The air intake for the Super Coupes were down in the lower grill.... He still has the car, still drives a little bit, but noisy as heck.


Arin, if you get water in your oil, ever consider an oil seperator? Or at least a can of Seafoam?
