Low oil pressure

So I recently did an oil change on my 94 gt. which was like two days ago. Before my oil pressure was normal all the time. Now since I changed it, it reads low. I put five quarts of oil. And the dipstick is full. Any thoughts?

How long have you had the car? How many times have you changed the oil in it?

Only had the car for about a month. This is its first oil change by me. The previous owner used vavoline all the time along with a vavoline filter. I put some pinzoil and a Bosch filter. I thought I was upgrading.

He probably ran a thicker oil. Just try a heavier grade oil in it. It just means the clearances in your motor are wearing out a little. How low is it showing?

Does it drop when you rev it or drive it in any way? As long as it doesn't get in the low range its safe. I would try a heavier oil anyways though.

It did feel like the revs dropped a little when I was taking off out of the driveway. What kind of weight should I go with ?

Might want to ask the guy you bought it from what he used to run. I would really hate to recommend one since I am no oil expert.

Change to a different oil filter Bosch and Fram killed the oil pressure in my old 94 5.0. With a motorcraft filter the gauge would be on the M of normal, Fram and Bosch it would be on the O

This is what I would try first.

I don't feel like that would be much of a problem. I know you experienced it but I just don't see it being a common issue.

It has happened on my moms explorer, my step dad's sport track, and my friend's mustang. That's why we only run a motorcraft filter

****, don't blame you. I've never had a problem, but then again, I only run motocraft anyway.
