Hello:
I'm new here, so I hope this comes out.

I have a '97 GT with MAC cold air intake, hi-flow cats and mufflers. Whenever I am at idle (can't really tell while I'm driving) I hear this hissing sound from the passenger side of the motor. The mechanic told me it was just the air being stinked in and is more noticeable without the stock filter shroud. I had a 90 GT before but did not hear anything like it. The idle tends to drop by 250 RPM when at a stop also. Does anyone have any ideas? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Rich

My 97 GT (with the MAC cold air intake) makes the same sound, I hear it coming from the passanger side also and around the vent on the passanger side. It started the day I put on the intake so I believe that's what it is, I turn up my stereo.

Thanks all for the replies. And, yes I've turned the radio up.

To jgsmuzzy:
No, it's manual.
