I've used Penzoil Plat 5W20 and Fram filter in my 02 V6 since I bought it. 116K on the clock.

The Motorcraft oil is okay as is the Motorcraft filter...after all thats factory spec and I ran that during my maintenance contract period...but I would NEVER run Pennzoil or a Fram filter. Fram is built in China and crap. Use Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 5-20 and NAPA Gold filter. Buy the oil at Wal Mart and filter at NAPA for a total of about $30

I have used Mobil1 for the last 200k miles with a Mobil1 filter. Recently I have been using Motorcraft filters though.
Mobil1 Extended Service, Royal Purple, and Pennzoil Ultra can be run 7k miles no problem. Its cheaper that way compared to using conventional oil and changing it every 3k miles. Better protection also.

I just replaced mine with fram filter and a part synthetic 10 W 30. Gave my engine a bit better response rather than b4, when I was using what we're supposed to which is 5 W 20
