Mach460 problems
#1
Ok, my cd player started screwing up a couple days ago, there are 5 cd's in it right now, it won't eject any, it won't play any, etc etc. Whenever I hit any button that has to do w/ the cd player, it tries to do whatever I told it to, but then always says "CD Error". Anyone know what could be the deal? Also, on the LCD, above where the cd's say disk 1 2 3 4 5 6, the letters "ST" are between 4 and 5. Maybe this means it's stuck between slot 4 and 5? Any help would be much appreciated!

Had a similar problem..
IS the CD door open constantly? and can you see a CD trying to be unloaded?
try to use another cd or tweasers to get the stuck CD out...once that happens, the rest should reseat....
This reason in peticular is why I ALWAYS use burned CDs now.
If they are trashed, I still have the originals

Had the exact problem with mine. The eject stops short of a successfull eject. An unfolded paper clip with a slight hook, inserted sidwise and when it should be at the hole in the cd a twist to hook the cd and pull it out.
I found that if I restarted the car that the unit might function and pop it out on its own.
I have not had this problem in some time, but I keep the paper clip just in case.

Mine has always had problems. Normally it just won't eject and I have to use another cd to edge it out. It's become so constant that I always have a crap cdr ready to use as a tool.
I just started having this same problem last week. I tried to go from cd 2 to 3 and the cd player stopped working. I hit eject and got the same error. I turned the car off and back on and still nothing. It wouldn't play, eject or any thing. Then an hour later, after I'd gotten to where I was, I came back out and the cd started playing. It's been fine ever since. Just an odd bug in it I guess.

I only use CDR's from now on... incase they get stuck and I ruin it trying to get it out. Using a credit card works too.
And some people have said that the reason they get stuck in there is because it gets to hot in there... and some blame it on CDR's too. Oh and I know this one is true... never use those sticker labeling things that you print off your computer and stick 'em on the CD's.. those ALWAYS get stuck.

Yea, I took it to the shop that specializes in Ford stuff around here, $330 to replace it! I think I might just get an iPod setup for it instead, for about the same price, since so many people seem to have had problems with these cd players.

Try disconnecting the battery cables, turn the ignition key on for a couple of minutes, take the key out, then connect the battery cables back. Have a credit card or something similar ready, press the eject button and if the CD slot opens, use the credit card (between the top of the CD and the upper portion of the slot) to guide the CD out. This process has worked for me. Best of luck.

i know in my stereo, if it gets stuck, i can just hold eject and power at the same time, it then resets the player, and ejects all cd's. Don't know if it will help, but dont pay 300 some odd dollars for a ford stereo, go with an aftermarket.
