Hi all, new member here in Ontario Canada. I recently acquired a 83 GLX convert , 3.8 L with a/c. I need the control unit to divert the air flow from heat to vent defrost etc . Does the unit from all Fox cars work or are they year specific ? Would a Fairmount unit work. I would like to actually put new parts in as this car is destined for my daughter eventually. Can anyone recommend a source to get what I need. Thanks. Regards, Mike

 

EBay is about the best bet. I had to get a new one for my 84 GT, and I had the worst time finding one. Finally was able to find one on eBay. It's a high demand item because they fail so often, so you might end up paying a pretty penny for one that works. If you can get one from another car that looks the same for a good price, I'd go ahead and give it a shot.
