Hard starting when warm

I’m running a GT40P motor with an Edelbrock 650 CFM Performance Series carb in my 84 LX. After it warms up, if I shut it off then restart within the first 5-10 minutes, it fires immediately. If I wait more the 10-15 minutes it’s hard to start (flooded?). I put a kit in it to no avail but here’s a potential problem: when I tried to screw in the new seat it wouldn’t go in. I fought it for a while then gave up and reinstalled the old seat. It would be just my luck that the problem all along was a bad seat. Any thoughts?

Well, since we're here: Carbs boiled maybe. Sounds heat related for sure. Too much heat and poof, no fuel in the carbs, no start for a bit.

Just a guess, based on a similar situation with my motorcycle. I'm probably wrong.

Also, welcome to the forums!
