Thumbs up

What is the best Super charger to run on a carbureted small block....?
(i want to eventually put a paxton on a Ford Racing 5.0L Gt40 long block)
is there a better SC?

I also would like to kno what is your sugestions on trannies... i have a C-4 now with B&M shift kit W/mega shifter... I was thinking Tremec TKO 5-spd or should i go with a more classic T4 spd...( i kno that would be easier).... (EDIT):should i say away from automatics or can i still do decent with the C-4?

and finally... atleast for this post what are the sugestions on the rear end... i have an stock 1966 rearend and want to change it to a 9inch... what gears and what kind of locker should i use... i have even heard of quick change rearends being used on street cars... i kno we use to use them on late modle dirt track cars but does anyone know anything about that... its would be nice to easily change back and forth from highway gears to drag gears... if you have no sugestions on quick change what gear ratio do you suggest for street and strip..? 4.11....Richmond?

any info at all would be greatly appreicated! THANKS!

You didn't mention what you want to do with the car. If you're building a drag car, I guess a beefed up C4 will do fine. If you're into spirited driving, a T5 is the way to go. If you're making over 400 ftlbs of torque, you might need a Tremec.

Why do you want a 9"? You should be able to answer this before pursuing it. Most people don't need a 9 inch.

What gears? Again, application... 4.11 might be good for an 1/8 mile track, but will stink on a long highway cruise.

Quickchange rears? They're all quick if you're good. I know a guy who changes his gears more often than his engine oil. Wakes up one morning, feels like a roadtrip, installs his 2.79s.

I want it to be both street and strip... i want pleanty of Hp if i need it but still be about the cruise the street with it...

and by the way if you don't know what a quick change rearend is it looks like this... made so you can change the gearing fast when racing...
but i was thinking i could use it to put in drag gears for the strip then maybe highway gears or whatever when cruz'n
thats why i was wondering if anyone new more about them...
and i just think a ford 9 inch is a more reliable rear end

and the gt40 with the paxton should be make well over 400hp

A QUICK GHANGE REAR END....

What's the price on a quick change by the time you get it to fit? Is it more than a Gear Vendors Unit?

there are a few link to site that sell or manufacture QC rear ends but i am not sure exacttly how much work had to be done to get them to work properly on a classic mustang... i kno we have put them on a late model monte carlo for dirttrack racing but i have never accually installed the unit just used it to change gearing....
there are many more sites that sell these but i didn't want to clutter a post with links

this is the dirt car i usta work on
