Hey all, douglas county has informed me i have to pass a smog inspection no matter what plates i put on my stang  , i hadnt really planned for this and i was wondering how hard it is to pass with headers and/or what kind of smog stuff i would have to re-install to pass? i know its different depending on the state but knowing what it had stock would be very helpful- thanks! Originally I know for the 66 you had a closed oil breather system for the air cleaner. This was a hose that ran from the air cleaner to the oil cap. I used to have one on mine, but I took it off. Don't need it here in SC there are no inspections in this state.

You also can get a smog pump from NPD, California Mustang, and etc.. that was originally on the California cars. Not sure how it would work with headers though. You may need to call them and see. Unfortunately it will draw some HP but at least you will pass inspection.

Hope that helps.

Do you know if they do a visual in Colorado? A lot of times with older cars, the technician doesn't know what he's looking at. Before I got it, my 66 spent a few years in Colorado Springs and still had the crossover smog pipe and air-injection system. It was a dummy system, though, because there was no air-pump. It still passed smog.
