It will get restored...just by the new owner. The 71-3 stangs are not my favorite body style but I wanted to see this one saved so my work is done

On the cougar...that has turned out to be interesting.....when I picked up the car I thought it was a '67 XR7..had all the XR7 parts on it. Then I decoded the VIN on the door and buck tag(they matched) and it came back as a 289 3 speed bare bones cougar....that was fine since I had planned to make a Trans AM race replica of the Dan Gurney car out of it. Well Christmas eve I was cleaning on the car and discovered a different color than I decoded on the floors...so a red flag went up. Moved the LH fender and found the REAL VIN for the car which shows it to be an X code car....factory big block 390 car! So now this has turned into a more valuable car than I originally thought I had. I have the correct date coded engine and transmission for this car so it looks like I will put this one back the way it is supposed to be and find another cougar later for my Dan Gurney replica.

It's rough looking but a solid car...only needs floors and a battery apron. The body has dings and dents but is straightenable. The original color appears to be the same Dark Moss Green that my '67 GT fastback is but I'll know for sure in a week or so when the Marti report I ordered for it comes in
