Steeda tunning will increse speed limiter?
Im interested in buying the steeda tunning newest sfx programmer with the tunes for life program. Will they increase the speed limiter to 130 mph or I will have to buy for mpt tunning.
I really like the save and reputable company they are but will love to have the higher governor specially since im in germany with this smaller cars passing me like im standing still at 114. I have a 2013 v6 engine and this will be my first engine mod.

If I'm not mistaken, most tunes remove the factory speed limiter setting altogether, or most tuners have the ability to turn it off (as well as traction control).

Ask Steeda for an 'opened' tune. You can make adjustments for tire sizes, rear gear ratios, top speed limit and a few other things before you load the tune to your Mustang

We can disable the speed limiter.
However, it depends on the car. Its not good on convertibles and the V6 with factory driveshafts.
Let me know if I can help assist you with anything further. You can reach me at tim@steeda.com.
Best Regards,
TJ

If you don't already have one, I'd suggest installing a driveshaft safety loop for added insurance at those higher speeds:

I just submitted my tune form on your website so do I have to ask in the notes for this top speed limiter to be removed?
Should I call and tell them or resubmit a tune from on your site?
Tired of it stopping at 148 MPH on the autobahn!

I think the optional 18" and 19" wheels get you much better tires (I know for sure the performance package does).

I concur. If someone is driving at speeds that exceed the rated tire, they run a very high risk of a blowout....
I've owned and ran z rated tires exceeding 140mph on my 15" rim back in the day on my GSR Integra with Dunlop tires. Its possible to get tires for the 17's

I just received my SCT X4 tuner yesterday from Steeda. You can go in and change the limiter yourself. Factory limits it to 115 and Steeda had it limited to 110. I changed it back to 115 like factory, but will NOT go above that.

I believe the factory two-piece driveshafts on V6 & GT (2010-2014) require the speed limiter set for safety. I, personally, would not mess with top speed, unless moving to a one-piece driveshaft. As stated above, of course improving rubber is a must.

The 2 piece shaft in the GT is built just fine for high speed. The GTs are limited at 147mph because of the suspension, that's what the Tech advisor at Ford Racing told me. The 2 piece shaft is to combat resonance at high speed.

Kumho makes W rated [ 168 mph ] tires for 17 in. wheels. The SPT's are listed as a a very high performance summer tire and the 4X's [ all season ] are almost as good, but last longer and don't loose grip when the temps drop below 40* F. Price is quite reasonable too.
