Steeda Delivers 720 Horsepower Bullitt Mustang To The UK
Right-hand drive Mustang marks the first time Steeda sends a modified Bullitt to the UK, and it is loaded with power and performance goodies.
We don’t have to explain to you that Steeda does some incredible things with Ford Mustangs. However, most of their incredible shenanigans happen on our side of the pond. Though that may have left a taste of jealousy in the European fans of the Mustang, there is great news. They don’t have to wait any longer. This spectacular example is the first Steeda modified Bullitt Mustang to hit the UK’s streets, and it is certainly no slouch.
Top Gear reports that this Bullitt has more than enough grunt to live up to its iconic name. How much grunt, exactly? According to Steeda, this Bullitt packs a punch of 720 furious horsepower. While that in its own right is an impressive number, they also include a host of modifications to make sure you’re getting good use of every last one of those ponies.
The pony car that thrives on any track, straight or curvy
The additional power comes thanks to their partnership with McQueen Racing. A three-liter Whipple Supercharger makes easy work of cranking out several hundred extra horsepower. Compared to the Bullitt’s stock output of 459 horsepower, calling it a substantial increase is a bit of an understatement. However, putting down 720 horsepower is a lot easier said than done. That being said, if you can trust anyone to do it, it’s the folks over at Steeda.
One of the most prominent upgrades to this Bullitt is Steeda’s “Stop the hop” package. This package includes a subframe alignment kit, billet vertical links, upgraded subframe bushings, support braces, and adjustable toe links. Allowing for on-car adjustment of the toe makes a world of difference in its own right. However, adding all the other goodies to keep the rear end in check makes a monumental difference in the way these cars handle. No more wheel hop means putting the power down as efficiently as possible, whether you’re driving in a straight line or putting the pedal to the metal out of a corner. We all know the folks over there prefer a road course to a drag strip. So, this package helps make a Mustang a windy road warrior.
Additionally, Steeda installs a short shifter kit, making the rapid rowing of gears a breeze. Missing gear is a thing of the past. Just don’t let your hand slip off the gear knob when you’re getting forcefully thrown into your seat.
In terms of appearance, Steeda includes a set of classically styled wheels, letting us not forget the heritage of the iconic Bullitt name. Furthermore, Steeda modifies the front bumper just a hair to really hone in their style. We think it looks pretty astounding.
While we may have our differences with our friends over in the UK, we couldn’t be happier to see them enjoying the iconic Ford Mustang. Especially considering they are dipping into modifying them to near-terrifying levels. It warms our heart to see them truly adopt the Mustang culture.
