Steeda: 30 Years of Turning Mustangs Into Ultimate Race Cars
Steeda has some big plans for the refreshed 2018 Ford Mustang.
Modifying the Ford Mustang is not exactly a small business, and over the years there have been hundreds of major companies and thousands of home-tinkerers. But there’s a difference between tinkering with a Mustang and turning a street car into a bonafide race car. This is where Steeda has seen the kind of success that other tuning houses and engineering firms can only dream of.

Steeda was built from the ground up for racing. Company founder Dario Orlando began his career as a test driver for Ford. He was actually the lead tester for the Merkur XR4Ti special vehicle program. It’s this experience and talent for racing that goes into every car and product that Steeda builds. Even today, the S550 Ford Mustang they use for testing is a race car. The Steeda Q500R is built from a production S550 Mustang, and Both Orlando and Steeda’s VP of Operations race the car together. In fact, they win multiple SCCA events every year. So far, Steeda has four major SCCA event victories in 2017.
Despite the heavy focus on road courses, Steeda doesn’t shy away from the drag racing crowd. Donnie Gilder and Chris Parisi are both running winning S550 Mustangs packed with Steeda parts. So far this year they have three major victories between them. Donnie’s car is a twin-turbo V8 Mustang with 1,200 horsepower that uses a Steeda-upgraded independent rear suspension to help manage the power. The best part, though, is that Donnie’s “Unicorn” features a full interior and is daily driven.

And all this leads up to 2018. Next year is the 30th anniversary of this incredible performance company. Next year also marks the launch of a freshly updated Mustang. Unwilling to sit idly by with a new Mustang launching, Steeda has already announced it will have performance parts ready to order on day one.
So this is a call to all you performance fanatics out there. If you want a new 2018 Mustang, but know that Ford won’t offer you the performance you want from the factory, Steeda already has race-tested performance parts ready to go.
Not only do they offer unparalleled performance, but also they are mightily prompt with delivering new products, too. Is there anything these guys aren’t good at?
