Bachelor Party at Drag Strip with 1400-HP Mustang

By -

Forget bar crawls, drinking games, and strippers because this guy would rather spend the day racing his 1,400-horsepower Mustang.

Yes, you read that right. This guy eschewed all the stereotypical, day-before-marriage stag activities to spend it roll racing. He’s perfectly happy spending his time with a 1,400-horsepower Mustang, a drag strip, and his wife to-be. That’s a man with his priorities straightened out, and there’s a video above to prove it.

To cope with the 1,400 horses, he’s running a sleeved motor so it can handle the 35-40 pounds of forced induction. As you can see from the front of the car, he’s all about getting that air into the turbo. As you’ll see in the video, it works. The car is a righteous rocket even before he cranks the boost all the way up.

Even more impressive, the car is streetable for those sight-seeing trips down to “Mexico.”

We avoid going deep on the YouTube comments because that’s where madness lies, but it was hard not to miss the cynical and sexist nonsense going on. Then we saw his wife show up and shut them all up. Not only did she explain to them why she likes her man going racing, but she also backed those words with actions by being there.

We think you’ll agree this Mustang rocks, and he drives it hard, but his wife is the real MVP here.

His obsession with cars started young and has left him stranded miles off-road in Land Rovers, being lost far from home in hot hatches, going sideways in rallycross cars, being propelled forward in supercars and, more sensibly, standing in fields staring at classic cars. His first job was as a mechanic and then trained as a driving instructor before going into media production.

The automotive itch never left though, and he realized writing about cars is his true calling. However, that doesn’t stop him from also hosting the Both Hand Drive podcast.
