1,000-HP Ford Mustang GT Will Literally Knock Your Hat Off

Modified Mustang delivers extreme power while still offering plenty of driver comfort.

If you saw this bright yellow 2015 Mustang GT on the road, you might not think twice about it. Of course, it’s a beautiful vehicle. However, there’s nothing — except for the exhaust — about its appearance that would make you think it’s been modified. But boy, would you be wrong!

As seen in this new Gears and Gasoline video, 2015 Mustang GT owner Ryan talks about his car and how he turned a stock GT into a 1,000 HP beast. Let’s start by saying the stock Mustang GT is no slouch. Pushing out 400 HP, the 5.0-liter V8 commands its own respect. However, when Ryan strapped on a supercharger and a few other odds and ends, he put it the Pony on steroids. Now, the Mustang puts out 934 horsepower and 698 pound-feet of torque.

The true power of the car is on display when the Gears and Gasoline host slides behind the wheel to see how it feels to drive a 1,000 HP Mustang. First off, he comments on how it feels completely different than another 1,000 horsepower vehicle drives. Instead of taking a smaller engine and car — which feels unwieldy with that much power — adding horsepower to an already-beefy car just feels more stable.

The real fun begins when the host steps on the gas. While literally knocking his hat off, the Mustang sounds amazing as he cranks through the first three gears. The look on his face says it all: This is a powerful car that sneaks up on you.

“There’s really no area where you have no power. You have power all the time, you just have a lot more of it,” says the host.

He comments that under 4,000 rpm, you might not even realize you are driving a 1,000 horsepower car. It just feels stock. In fact, as owner Ryan points out, “It’s perfectly comfortable. You shut the door. On a hot day, you roll up the windows, turn on the air conditioner, and listen to the radio and be happy.”

Towards the end of the video, you see the host step on the gas one more time, with his death grip on the wheel. It’s clear that driving this car is quite the experience.
