Our Mustang friends in Australia are probably making some early Christmas plans now that Ford has announced pricing for the new sixth-gen model, which goes on sale there this December.

The starting price for the car in Australia will be around AUD $44,900, not including an additional $2,500 for variants, according to a Drive.com.au report. That comes out to about $35,000 American dollars.

The top-of-the-line Mustang GT with the V8 engine is priced at around AUD $54,900 for the manual and AUD $56,490 for the six-speed automatic transmission. Australian buyers looking to drive away in a convertible model of the new Mustang can expect to pay around AUD $53,900 or AUD $63,900 for the GT convertible, which is about $50,000 here in the States.

Ford has reportedly gotten 1,200 firm orders for the Mustang in Australia and interest from more than 15,000 potential customers eager to learn more about the S550.
