Cop Pulls Over Mustang Shelby GT350R for a Thrill Ride

By -

This Shelby owner is lucky that not all cops hate parking lot donut sessions.

It’s something that every Mustang owner eventually deals with – the long arm of the law. While we obviously don’t advocate driving in an unsafe manner on public roads, even we’re guilty of laying down a little rubber every now and then. Or, you know, “merging” off the highway exit ramp a little quicker than your average SUV-driving soccer mom. But lately, a lot of YouTubers have found themselves in hot water for these frowned-upon activities. The latest? Tunnel Chaser and his fairly new Shelby GT350R.

Fellow YouTuber StangMode was filming the entire encounter, and Send It Steve was actually the one behind the wheel. But unlike some recent, well documented police encounters, this one actually turned out pretty well in the end. After doing a little burnout and ripping off a couple donuts in a parking lot, a nearby police officer did in fact pull them over. But it turns out, he was more interested in the car than writing tickets or arresting anybody.

After asking tons of questions about the Shelby GT350R, the officer remarks “I’d love to drive that thing.” And as you might imagine, the YT conglomerate were more than happy to grant him that request. “If you’re ever off, set it up,” StangMode says. “You gotta experience this. You can’t explain it.”

It isn’t just lip service, either. The officer admits that he even once owned a 1993 Cobra, which he hilariously calls a “turd.” Maybe by today’s standards, anyway. But it’s incredibly cool to meet a cop who is obviously a Mustang fan like the rest of us.

This encounter could have obviously gone very differently, but it’s nice to see that it didn’t. Far too often these days, we see the dark side of the law. But this video proves that there’s at least one cool, Mustang-loving officer out there in the world.
