Is Your Mustang’s Horn Sending the Wrong Message?

By -

Can installing a courtesy horn in your Mustang make you appear nicer in traffic?

If you’ve traveled across the globe, you know that a headlight’s high setting, a.k.a. “high beam,” is used for several courteous actions. For example, flash and hold to warn, flash quickly two times to request to pass, and flash three times to thank someone for a kind gesture.

Like headlights, car horns also have several uses. Sadly, most of us use our Mustang’s horn to express our disapproval, discontent, or flat out curse someone’s mother or father. But what if we could use our horn in a different manner? For example, warning someone about the coffee cup they’ve left on their car’s roof could require two staccato bursts of the horn. Can you pull that off, or will you end up honking too loud and too long, making you sound like a complete maniac?

The folks at PowerNationTV discuss the installation of something called a courtesy horn. While the concept is quite foreign to most of us, we must admit that it makes sense. At least if you want to be a kinder person on the road, of course. Because let’s face it, the world needs more of that.

Don’t you agree?
