Mustang Gets Shelby GT500 Heritage Edition & Coastal Limited Edition
The all-new Shelby GT500 Heritage Edition and Coastal Limited Edition are the latest additions to Ford’s 2022 Mustang lineup. Deliveries of the new offerings will start in Spring 2022.
The 2022 Mustang lineup was recently updated. Ford introduced the all-new Shelby GT500 Heritage Edition. Furthermore, the four-cylinder EcoBoost turbocharged variant of Ford’s lauded pony car received an all-new Coastal Limited Edition. The Blue Oval brand now also offers a new vibrant paint option for the GT500.
The all-new Shelby GT500 Heritage Edition draws its inspiration from a beloved 1967 Shelby GT500 model. The tribute car sports a Britney Blue paint job which is offset by a pair of Wimbledon white racing stripes that run across the length of the sports car. A matching white stripe and GT500 logos also adorn the sides of the Shelby GT 500 Heritage Edition.
Customers get to select between the options of vinyl or painted-on stripes. The automaker started accepting orders for Shelby GT500 Heritage Editions on November 15th. The Heritage Package with vinyl stripes retails for $2,140, whereas the painted-on version will cost you $12,140.
Ford now also offers a new Code Orange color option for the 2022 Shelby GT 500.
“Designed and engineered by Ford Performance as the most powerful street-legal Ford ever built, the 2022 Mustang Shelby GT500 harnesses world-class muscle and powertrain technologies to attain supercar levels of performance” stated Ford.
This paint option is only available on Ford Performance models, which include the Ford GT and F-150 Raptor. The company has also introduced a Coastal Limited Edition model for the EcoBoost-propelled Premium Trim level of the 2022 Mustang. The four-cylinder turbocharged motor produces 310 HP of maximum power in the new Mustang.
The Coastal Limited Edition costs $1995 and includes 19-inch wheels that flaunt a machined finish and tarnished dark-painted details. In addition to the pedestal rear spoiler, the Coastal Limited Edition package also includes a black grille, vinyl pinstripes, Coastal instrument panel badge, signature Mustang rear fender side scoop, and illuminated sill plates that project coastal branding.
“The new 2022 Mustang Coastal Limited Edition embodies the freedom the legendary Ford nameplate has always embodied, yet uniquely appointed for those who want even more style with their shoreline driving adventures,” stated Ford.
The all-new Coastal Limited Edition package is available on both fastback and convertible variants of the Premium trim of the 2022 Mustang. According to Ford, deliveries of the Heritage Edition and Coastal Limited Edition Mustangs will start sometime in spring 2022.
