Killer Custom Mustangs, Hot Drifting Invade Auto Enthusiast Day 2019
From the new Steve McQueen Bullitt to Chelsea DeNofa’s drifter, Nitto’s meet brought out some serious Mustangs.
Of all the many awesome automotive events that take place in Southern California each year, Nitto’s Auto Enthusiast Day is undoubtedly one of our favorites. And this year, the seven hour extravaganza took place in the massive parking lot surrounding Angel Stadium of Anaheim. We here at The Mustang Source were present for all of the fun, which included a host of special edition and custom Mustangs as well as some awesome drifting demonstrations from pro driver Chelsea DeNofa.
Pretty much every vendor in the industry was in attendance with their own decked-out custom ride as well. That includes mega parts seller American Muscle, who brought along a base S550 with a few added bits including wheels and tires. Steeda brought along a trio of Mustangs as well. One, pretty much a bolt-on ordeal with a strut tower brace, cold-air kit, G-Trac suspension, and a rather big wing. The other, a wilder build with some pretty crazy graphics.
Our favorite ride of the Steeda trio (and likely the entire show), however, was their Steve McQueen Edition Bullitt. Packing a Stage 1, Gen 5, 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger under the hood, this thing pays proper homage to the Hollywood legend. But these special Mustangs are also a complete package, equipped with a host of Steeda suspension upgrades and enough badges to fill a room.
Whiteline also brought along their wild, widebody S550 Mustang fitted with a GT350 wing. Not to mention enough hood vents to nearly fill the entire hood. Packing plenty of carbon fiber aero bits, a racing seat, and some massive rubber, it certainly looked the business. And for the “old school” guys, we also spotted a killer last-gen GT500 Super Snake.
Eventually, we finished soaking in all of these amazing Mustangs. But then it was time to watch another one light up the demo area. We’re talking, of course, about Chelsea DeNofa and his incredible drift ‘Stang. As always, DeNofa put on an amazing show with zero regard for his tires. And we loved every second of it.
If you can only attend one car show each year, you could certainly do worse than Auto Enthusiast Day. So be sure and stay tuned here for next year’s date/location announcement!
