Mustang Parkour Debuts as This Year’s Dumbest Sport

We can debate whether this is the world’s greatest hype man or an idiot but why must there be a pony involved?

Sometimes (OK, a lot of times) we see stuff so stupid that it makes our collective brains hurt. Unfortunately, these acts of absolute stupidity also often include our favorite car – the Mustang. From crowd-mowing burnouts to drag racing fails and everything in between, it almost makes you wish you could just make people take a test before they’re allowed to own a Mustang. And now, we present to you perhaps the stupidest Mustang-related thing we’ve seen this year so far, brought to you by an Instagram page called taking0ver.

In all fairness, we don’t know if the driver/owner of this particular SN95 has anything to do with this silly stunt. But he does keep on ripping donuts despite the fact that there’s a grown man jumping in/on and out/off of his sliding car. Oh yea, and hanging off the back of it. When crowds started getting too close to donut demos, we thought we had seen the worst of it. Turns out, we haven’t.

This little stunt certainly has the crowd going wild, at least. The guy filming the whole thing can’t stop laughing, in fact. And we admit, it is somewhat funny. And hey, at least the guy doing parkour off the sliding Mustang doesn’t get hurt or run over. But still, we’re not really sure why anybody would do something so insanely stupid just for a few seconds of internet fame.

And, well, that’s just what it’s all about these days. Folks keep topping each other in an attempt to make a name for themselves. If they die in the process, well, we suppose that’s just part of the deal. As for us, we’re happy standing near the back of the crowd. Or preferably inside the protection of some well-constructed building.

We’ve just seen to many incidents like this go horribly wrong. And we prefer our bones to stay in one piece. But above all, we’re just tired of the Mustang getting a bad name because of silly stunts like these. So can we all just band together and agree not to do anything dumb for a while? At least not anything that makes people whip their phones out and record it, maybe?
