How much power do you need in a Mustang? Well, apparently a lot of it, if you happen to be Ken Block.

The drifting sensation recently decided that the 845 horsepower in his custom-built, all-wheel-drive ‘65 Ford Mustang (as used in Gymkhana 7 ) just wasn’t enough. So, Block sent the car back to its original builder, Vaughn Gittin, Jr.’s RTR team, to get even more power out of the car — to the tune of 555 more horses, for a total output of 1,400 hp.

The additional power comes courtesy of two turbochargers that pack 21 psi of boost into the Hoonicorn Mustang’s 6.7-liter V8. The new, more-powerful take on the RTR also got a brand new paint scheme.

But given that Block just recently released the ninth Gymkhana installment, it’s a little unclear right now what the plans are for the car. What else can he possibly do? We can’t wait to see.
