Heads up folks, it’s getting into the cold season, and it’s time to start doing some preparation and maintenance to make sure your Mustang is ready for winter use. When you are going about your business of winter-prep, it can also be a great time to check for other issues in your car that you may not think about. Since you are going to be inspecting your coolant fluid to make sure it won’t freeze, you should go ahead and make sure to check for electrolysis as well.

All you need is a multimeter and a few seconds of time. The Two Minute Tech video below explains the process in detail, but basically you are just looking to see if your coolant is producing any voltage. If it has a charge, it can be eating away at expensive aluminum components in your car, which is never a good thing.
