Microsoft Sync WiFi
Microsoft Sync WiFi
I just found out that with a usb mobile broadband modem i can get wifi in my mustang. Can someone explain how this works? I know you need to usb modem, but do you you need a 3g card in your laptop? I was hoping i can use my iPod Touch to connect to the wifi signal with just the usb broadband modem. Thanks in advance.

This is the article I found.

I haven't had a chance to try anything out, considering my car hasn't been built yet. I just don't know how it works without having a monthly fee. It's not just picking up WiFi signals in the surrounding areas, correct?

That's for vehicles with MyFord Touch. Right now it's the new Explorer, the Focus, the Edge and I think the next Taurus. Awesome technology but I assume it won't be in the Mustang until the next redesign.
the way it works is you can plug a USB 3G or 4G modem (the kind you would plug into a laptop) into the USB slot in the car and wifi transmitters built into the car will share the signal from the modem with wifi devices in the vehicle. The car will basically serve as a wifi router for your USB modem. I am 99% sure this is only with my ford touch.
