2005-2009 Mustang Interior Door Trim Panel Repair Threads
@SpaceCadet
Saw You Searching Terri! Welcome Back!

A Good Sampling of The Door Panel Insert Issue Repair Topics.
I Like the First One Only Thing I Would add is After The Rolling Off of the Dried Up Foam I Would Go Over With a Cotton Ball with Denatured Alcohol on Both Door Panel & Upholstory Panel. I Would Also Let Dry Overnight before Using Adhesive. Also I Found it Much Easier To Work With The Panel Removed From Door! I Was Fortunate with My Shelby I Never Used Any Trim Chemicals on My Panels So I Did Not Have to Contend with a Silicone or Whatever Chemical Making the Bond More Difficult. It Took Three Times To Get it Figured Out. The Sprays Would Not Work. I Did Not Use The Contact Cement as Shown But Used Gorilla All Purpose Glue and a Lot of Rubber Gloved Massaging into The Panel.
Here is Another Tip. If You get a Pesky Air Bubble Stick a Needle in a Few Perforation Holes to add a Vent.In The Event any Glue Comes Through, Unlikely Unless you Really Slathered it on have Some Denatured Alcohol & a Cotton Ball or Terri Cloth on Stand By. Works For Adhesive on Door Panel as Well if You get Right on It! Worked for Me!

Nice find! After reading over the thread links posted, I found the Weldwood contact cement method and upholstery shop method with tweed material as the most effective options IMHO,

I'm still debating on whether to reapply the OEM vinyl insert panel or go the Coverlay ABS plastic insert replacement instead...

They did, but only if you opted for the deluxe, non-premium package... Had I known about the vinyl inserts peeling off prior to purchasing the 2005-09 premium options, I would've gone with the deluxe option instead.

Ironically The Other Leather Package With the Console Lid & Stitched Dash Held Up Just Fine! Also Upgraded Door Armrests! Funny Thing This Package Never Shows Up in KBB. At Least Not Last Time I Looked! Gotta Be Worth Something!
I Know I Have It! So Few Options Available I Had To Get All I Could!
Sold The Heck out Of the Console Lids Back in The Day!
GT 500 Premium Interior Trim Package (incl.
wrapped & stitched instrument panel brow & center
console w/upgraded door armrest, electrochromic
rearview mirror w/compass & aluminum pedals.
PACKAGE 68S

When Choosing Inserts Get Some Good Ones as Cheap Crappy Ones Will Go Bad Just Like Original Insert! Go For Brand Name! Coverlay is Likely a Good Item! Especially in Very COLD or VERY Hot Area's!

Predator Mustang inserts are even better... Question is whether they're still in business or not? Here's 5 YouTube videos from a few years ago...
