Just bought a 65 fastback with deluxe interior. I am trying to renovate the interior. The door panel stainless trim seems to have some screws holding it to the panel. Is this correct. should there be screws holding this trim on?

any help is appreciated. Thanks.

There is often a screw in the the end that goes through the trim, panel and door, but thats the only screw I'm aware of. Its unclear if this was a factory or dealer fix. The trim itself is held on by metal tabs that are bent over.

Mine have a screw through the trim on each of the larger or outside trim. The holes are not in the same spot. If this is a factory hole it should be in the same location on each side. If anyone knows whether originals are with holes or without I would appreciate letting me know. Thank you

Mine has those awful-looking screws too. All these years I've assumed it was a half-hearted repair by the original owner!

Mine, too, has the screws. When I was at the 40th, I'd say 95% of deluxe interiors had the screws. I'd venture to say that the one without the screws were fixes by the owners to eliminate the screws.
