10 months and waiting for new 2024 Mustang GT premium.
Any one else have this kind of delay in ordering new 2024 Mustang GT premium? Very frustrated. Ordered 11-13-2023, email from ford Jan 4 and nothing still I started calling end of March and got the new car sales manage involved. Car in Process starting May, just got Built notification yesterday and ready to ship. Anticipated arrival per Ford Plant is 9-7 to 9-13. The car is 10 months old with 2025 mustangs already out. Car value is already dropping and I don't have it yet. I have already notified new sales manager that I do not intend to pay last years price for the car. Promised 6-12 weeks to delivery initially.

That's a long time, even when there was the chip shortage a few years back. I wouldn't count on getting a discount from the dealership though. With a definite delivery date set for September, I would still be happy to get the exact car i wanted even if it's 10 months waiting. 6 months was the 'norm' for Challenger orders a few years back and everyone was generally happy. Once the car is 5 years old you won't even think about it anymore.
Post photos when you get it please.
Thank you for your insight and calming my frustration. I have a 2015 Mustang V6 that has been a gem but want a newer model since soon they won't be making them anymore. I will post pics at pick up. Thank you again
I waited 8 months for my Boss so I feel your pain. I only received it in time to store it for that winter. So I didn't really have her broken in till that following spring.

Thank you for you insight. Waiting has become the norm these days.

You must be ultra excited at the prospect. I totally 'get it'. So few people order their cars with everything they want. Usually it costs more and then that wait. I'm not sure I will ever be in the monetary position again to buy a new ordered Mustang GT convertible which is what my wife and I prefer. It's OK but I certainly admire what you have done and I'm glad you will be patient a little longer.
Just a quick personal note: In 2020 I finally saved enough $$$ to buy and ORDER a car I always wanted since seeing Vanishing Point as a teen in 1971. A Dodge Challenger R/T. When Dodge started making them again around 2009 I wasn't going to miss out but it took awhile. I was headed to the Dodge dealership in Nov 2020 to order the R/T to my exact specs with NO SETTLING. The color, the options, stripes, Shaker, everything was going to be perfect. Unbelievably, my car was already built and sitting at a lot in Savannah, GA, just a few hundred miles away. The only thing different from my order list was the Brembos being painted red as an extra option. With a $3,000 dealer discount and about $2,500 rebate available I decided I could live with the red Brembos.
Here it was at the showroom 4 years ago with the red Brembos.. It was unreal!!
The car is everything we wanted. However dealer tried to get additional 4000 as msrp on car now is 4000 more than last November 2023. Fortunately my worksheet last year was signed by new car Mgr back then. We got the car at 2023 agreed price.
Thank you all for your input. this forum helped me be forgiving and pushy where needed based on your experiences. Here s the new 2024 mustang GT premium, grey matter is color
Congratulations on Your New Stang & Kudo's For You Holding Your Ground on Price!
I Used To Tell Folks with a New Car Purchase Back in the Day To Get To Know The Owners Manual Cover To Cover But Hey How Many Years Would That Take Now. So Instead I Would Say Just Read the Index & Be Able To Find What You Need When You Need it ahead of Time!
Thank you for that tip. The car manual is built into car these days and I've used a few times already. Getting very comfortable with table of contents/index.
Thank you for the pdf version and the complement. Enjoying her so far. She definitely packs a better freeway drive than my 2015 6 cylinder did. The seats are by far more comfortable too.

How did I miss this?? Oh yeah, I was on vacation.
All I can say is SWEET!!!! Enjoy it and thanks for the update on the dealership's attempted theft of your $$$. What else is new??? Some things in life are certain, Death, taxes, and scumbag greedy car dealerships.
