I saw the vehicle when it came out last year, and immediately thought "I've got to get one"..... just LOVED the new design. I think Ford hit an absolute home run with the design/ergonomics/price/cool factor.

Anyway, I waited long enough for any bugs to be worked out in production (not too many anyway !) and just ordered an 06' GT Premium Coupe.

What made YOU buy a Mustang ??

Good topic starter. The reason why I ordered my '06 GT was a couple reasons. The first 1 was I was driving a 2005 V6 as my demonstrator at my dealership. I put 5600 miles on it, and was REALLY bummed about gving it back (Demo's can't have more than 6,000 miles, per company rules). Once I saw the new design, and drove one for that long, and saw how comfortable they are, I looked into it.

The second reason was that I really wanted a 1968 fastback, not necessarily a GT fastback but a fastback that I could turn into a "Bullitt Car". A Bullitt car is my "dream Mustang" but all 1967 and 1968 fastbacks are getting harder and harder to find, even in rough shape. Some people want WAY too much for them given their condition, and the other reason for the lack of availability. Unique Performance, in Texas is buying up all the fastbacks they can get to turn them into "Shelby's and Eleanor's.

So this led me to looking at my financial situation. I looked at it when they first came out, but figured I couldn't afford one. Come July 2005, I looked again and realized I had a good amount saved up through work, I already bought a house, AND I work at a dealership, so I can get a GT at employee price, so I said, what the hay, why not order one. If I don't I'll always regret it later on in life. I can't find a '68 so this would be the next best thing. That is why I I ordered one. Plus Vista Blue came out, so it made it even more of a cinch to order one.

Had a 1965 Mustang in high school and when this new model came out I knew I had to have it. I also had just turned 40 and completed graduate school so it was a gift to myself.

Because it meets and excedes my definition of the perfect car. OK, near perfect. I've wanted a 60's muscle car forever, but just felt they are too impractical. Hello 2005 Mustang!

I have loved Mustangs since I bought my first one in 1989. I kept her until about 2 months ago when we sold her. For years I have been drooling over the new mustangs. We just haven't been in a financial place to purchase one. The 2005's came out and at first I wasn't sure if I'd like them since I'd seen some concept versions of it. I was afraid I'd always have to buy a used one if I didn't like the new style. Then I saw the actual cars and LOVED them! They looked so much like the muscle cars that were around in the 70's when I was a kid. We started finishing up getting our financial situation back into shape and we lookd around for any 2005 sonic blues... couldn't find any that anyone would deal on the price with around here, so we decided to order a 2006 Vista blue! We have had it less than a week now but boy oh boy are we in love with this car!! That's why we bought a 2006.

My dad always had muscle cars while I was growing up and I always said I would own one someday. Well my someday came for my 40th birthday to myself. I knew I felt 20 the whole time but the Mustang proves it. :banana2:

Various reasons...

1. My first car was a '72 Mustang back in 1983.

2. Graduated to a '69 Mach 1.

3. Never owned a new car.

4. Kicking the door in to 40.

5. Finally, a design that does the name justice.

6. Finally, stock performace that does the name justice.

7. Stays crunchy in milk.

My father had 1965,1968, and 1974. I grew up in the II, and always loved that little car. When I saw the pic of the 05 on Fords site, I had to have it. I did a search, and found Brad's site, the rest was history, without TMS my car would not be.

Ordered 6/14/04

Delivered 11/10/04

I have to thank Brad for the best Mustang site ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brad your the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ever since I sold my 66 vert I've always regretted it. Since then I have always wanted another mustang but any old ones were overpriced and I had already restored one didnt want to do it again. When I saw the new one I instantly new I had to have it. Now I'm going to spend all my money modding this one. Oh well at least I'll fun doing it.

I grew up with 70's musclecars. Love em! First car was a 72 Olds Cutlass. Had another Cutlass, and a Fury. My close cousin had a Z28, Chevelle, etc. Then when I got older I switched over to pickups.

Never had a Mustang, and never really wanted one...until now.

It just has the perfect mix of performance and looks, retro yet modern. It's the first new car I have really wanted since I can't even remember when.

I'm picking it up Saturday! My first Mustang, and my first Ford.

I have always been a Chevy man....until I laid my eyes on the 05 Mustang concept car. I told the wife when that car hits the street I will have one in the garage. Well she didn't wait on me buying one, she bought one for me. I love the car and recently when it was in the shop for repair (deer incident) I was actually suffering Mustang withdrawal symptons. I couldn't stand that I couldn't drive it. It was bad to say the least. The designers got this car just right, I love it!!

In 1965 I was 24 and ordered a new 289 Mustang 2+2 fastback. It totaled $3500.00 and was the first car I really fell in love with. When I first saw a picture of the new '05, I had been driving a '94 GT for 11 years and I knew I had to have it.

1994 GT 302

2005 GT 281

My first car in high school was a candy apple red '68 coupe... bought it in 89 and sold it in 95. The 05 is the first car I've gotten excited about driving since the ol' 68.

I bought a used 69 Fastback when I got out of the service in 72.

I've got twin 17 year old boys that have no interest in cars at all!

The first time I heard an 05 run, I came home from work & told my wife I was going to take the boys down to the Ford dealer in the morning so they could hear a new Mustang. I did, but, they didn't have one in stock. They lket us drive a 6 cylinder. I was pretty impressed with it but told them when they get a V8 - give me a call! We went down the next Saturday & drove one. I ordered one soon after & waited 5 months. It became obvious they wern't going to get one & I bought 1 off of another lot!

The Boys seem a little more interested in cars now!

Because it looks like my 69 mustang. It sounds like my 69 mustang. And it's really fast like my 69 mustang!
