He's doing very well he's walking all over the house... I'm letting him play a little bit but not rough. He will be getting the other leg done in a month or so.

Just back from the vet. we took Leto my 15 year old in to see what could be done for his eyesight. He's gone completely blind in the past 2 weeks. Heartbreaking. I am now his seeing eye human. we've begun nightly walks around the property on a leash, just to keep his activity level up and keep him happy. He was uber depressed for the first week, but since then he has begun to adapt. he now plays, wags his tail and acts goofy like before, but just a little more cautiously.
This is a pic of Tag in their new truck. Leto is lying down on the bed inside the box. We'll still have our tailgate parties though. My bud's mom and I are gonna design a really good back seat hammock/cover to make it more comfy for the dogs when they are back there, and so that Leto doesn't fall off the seats or bang into sharp things.

I saw a pic on Instagram (or maybe it was here) that had a German Shepard and it said "he might be only a part of your life, but to him - you are his whole life"

My last dog was blind. She had 8 EXCELLENT years of her life and then 3 years ago, got diabetes and became blind shortly after. She need 2 insulin shots a day, 12 hours apart. I would get up early during the week for work, which was no big deal for the 5:30 am shot and then she would get another at 5:30 pm. I would get up early EVERY weekend at 5:30 am to give her her shots as well. She got along pretty good, but didn't go up and down stairs when she was blind. Once in a while she would have her "off" days.
Dogs adapt better than humans do. Just don't change any furniture in the house or anything. They have a sense for things and are amazing.
Good luck to you and to Tag. Always give him affection and know he's loved, which I know you do.
Awesome truck by the way. Congrats.

Thanks Tony, but Tag is fine, he's only 2. It's Leto who's now blind at 15. Your sentiments are greatly appreciated though. Leto still loves his trucks rides but spends them lyin down on the bed. Tag's as curious as ever

Thanks!!! We rescued her about 4 years ago. She was in pretty poor condition health and temperament wise. You could see her back bone and every rib and she was quite aggressive and motion shy. It's amazing how well she was come along weight wise....almost 215 lbs!!!!
She still has some aggression issues towards other dogs and strangers, but she is the biggest sweetheart towards people she knows.
