You are a smart, smart guy. The expression "The 2 happiest days of a boaters life are the day he gets his boat, and the day he sells it" is absolutely true. I do miss being out on the water, but I don't miss owning a boat.

good for you then!! Is the market or this specialty down there like it is here? Keep in mind that the people have less $$ down there and the population density is thinner down there too.

With that said, part of the blame is on me. I'll admit that. The other side of the coin is that I had a requirement to be where I am, location-wise, and this was the only house in the area that fit my needs. It's a function of the cost of living in a certain area. If I wanted to live in the middle of nowhere, like Winslow, I could have, and I'd have saved money on a house. What I wouldn't have saved money on would have been my taxes, which are just as high as Cherry Hill, the commute to my job in Mount Laurel, and sitting on 73 each day, not moving.

Trade offs.

I'm glad you're happy where you are, but I'd rather be closer to things than farther away.

Just found this thread (I usually just stick to the 2010+ forums since I'm usually too busy).

Point #1: Wow, I really enjoyed "meeting" all of you, and found it interesting how the non-car photos were the most touching, my favorite being TwinTurbo's 2-yr-old son watching the lowered '65 (I think) cruise by. Thanks for your pics of some "real mustangs", Charlie.

Point #2: Funny thing about our kids. My only son, now 19 couldn't care less about cars. His thing is sports. Some day you will see him on ESPN.

Point #3: I'm 48, but hardly the oldest. I think we skew things on here due to the computer aspect, which leaves out a few old timers. Sometimes I envy them.

Point #4: My pic - my dear long-suffering wife surprised me in 2005 with a nice gift of a few "hot laps" with the Richard Petty Driving Experience around the Richmond International Raceway.

Oh yeah it was! 8 laps, topping out at about 108 mph on the 3/4-mile oval, yet the car only felt to me like it was at 70% to 80%. The RPDE guys said that if you buy the more expensive packages they'll let you go faster as your skill indicates is appropriate (you are driving the car by yourself, following an instructor in a car ahead of you, keeping the proper distance back without slowing him down). They tell you general lift points and accel points on the track; you never shift again once you come out of the pits and get it up to 4th gear. The THUNDER was incredible!

The pros qualify @ around 130mph at RIR, and 1st-place race speeds are about 122-124 mph per lap.

They had us split into 4 teams of 6 to 8 people; my team had the fastest average lap time for the day (OF COURSE!), so we each got a nice little extra team photo.
