So far so good. Focusing is a lot faster than the 40D.

Focusing is my biggest problem on the 40D. I know my image quality can be fixed with a better lens. The 28-300 I rented was awesome. But what good is the lens if 1 out of 7 pics is in focus? My camera/lens fund is at the halfway point for getting the body, but the DD needs tires, so that may win.

Have you tried the video yet?

Three more from this evening. You'll have to excuse the shaky image quality (on the elevator shot, in particular) but I was sans tripod and it was windy. Very, very windy.

Hmmm, I didn't find the 40D focusing to be too slow. I thought it was fine as well, the 7D is just faster. It also has more focusing points so if you are having focusing issues with the 40D, I have a feeling you will have more problems with the 7D.

The dog moves fast, focusing can't keep up with him. Could be just the cheap lens. Most of my vacation pics with the rental lens are okay. Could be a back focusing problem too.

Not the greatest pic but, this was with the 40D and 100-400mm f4 L lens. Hand held and a few days after I got the camera. The birds would not stay in place for long so there isn't much time to focus.
