Am I the only person that doesn't like the smell of roses?
I like the smell of roses but I LOVE lilacs (we don't have them down here but had them in PA) and confederate Jasmine, Lily of the Valley (north).

From my drive yesterday up HWY 66 where the Siskiyou's meet the Cascade's and where the old Applegate Trail was.

2,3 You can still see the wagon trail after 150 years!
4 Beautiful panorama. If you can imagine those on the wagon trail that had just gone through months of rough and barren high desert after leaving southern Idaho's desert, and arrived to cross Klamath River and saw this view! That they didn't stay here is because the Modoc tribe (Captain Jack) was pretty hostile to settlers IIRC.
Mt. McLoughlin (9500') on the left, Mountain Lakes complex in front. I live in the valley on the other (north) side. It's highest point is 8200' but if you carry the line from the left side up and the right side up, you can see how big this volcano was before it blew. They estimate 15-16k' and taller than Mt. Mazama's (Crater Lake) 15k'. Where Mazama's eruption made one large caldera with one lake, Mt. Lakes' collapsed leaving an uneven caldera and created dozens of lakes.
Can't wait to see how the 35mm film pics turn out.
5 Mt. McLoughlin from Lake of the Woods (about 5 miles from the ranch).
