This past Christmas I went and saw my folks. They are in the "get-rid-of-everything-that-belongs-to-our-kids" phase, and my mom was literally loading my arms with stuff to take back with us. My niece (who is now 16...when the **** did THAT happen?!) found an apology letter I had written to my brother. In it, I told him I was sorry for hurting him and that I loved him because that's what we are supposed to do...but that I still loved the dog and Mary Lou Retton more.
