That alignment has to be off real bad. The wear is on the very edge and there appears to be some tread left even an inch off the edge. I almost want to say that the tire is hitting something inside the well. Too wide of tire in front.

 

Glad they're gonna fix it right Steff. That's a real close call. Good thing they caught that.

 

I agree with al, caught it just in time. A blowout couldve destroyed the front fender on that car!!!

 

Are you certain the outer half of the tire was contacting the pavement? Looks like no wear at all

 

Yikes! I know my mom has gotten to the point where there were wires poking out of her tires several times. My dad never bothers to rotate them.

 

Hate to agree with Joe, but that looks like its been rubbing something, maybe just over bumps at speed.
That pic you posted of the car, the front tire doesn't look like it has nearly enough negative camber to be doing that on such a small portion of the tire.
