Hell, I don't know. 300-400k employees full timers pay 78.00 a month and part timers pay 38.00 (I think) a month

The union doesn't protect everybody, they make deals like 5 for 1. 5 employees get their jobs back, while 1 bites the bullet.

Maybe not in good ol' california, but here we have a law that allows us to shoot first ask questions kater if someone is on our property. Driving offences are nothing and are one of the easiest ways for someone here to lose their job. Especially repetitive offences, multiple complaints for poor service and again driving, and a myriad of other reasons. In TX, we dont mess around or give a **** bout who you are or who you work with. If you hurt the business, then bye-bye

Ups is one company, not many. Ups in California is no different than Ups in Texas or Ups in Michigan. There are disciplinary rules and grievance procedures. People aren't just fired, it's a union.

That part really sucks though. People usually don't change who they are. Our union has gotten quite a few people's jobs back only to end up with them not learning their lesson and getting fired again. Really a waste of resources but it comes with the territory I guess.

That's exactly what I've seen. The union boss will sacrifice to keep the members that tow the line. The company is just happy to get rid of the 5 and will keep that 1 this time.

Only a few here probably remember The Smothers Brothers, I'm sure Lee, Charlie, & Willie do. They had a parody of "Walk the Line":

I keep my arms wide open all the time,
I keep myself quite willing all the time;
I keep my pants up with a piece of twine,
Because you're mine, please pull the twine.

It seems that I'm the only one that you ever correct though. I get it. I graduated UofH. Degrees were given out like candy.
