I would consider it, but I played an april fools joke on my wife that involved her beloved dog and I don't think there's room in the doghouse for both of us.

Nothing actually happened to the dog. I just made her think something did. Then there was this whole miscommunication thing, she jumped off a really important conference call to rush to the animal hospital where she thought I was going since I wasn't answering any of her half-dozen phone calls or half-dozen texts wondering where the blue hell I was, while I thought she was just ignoring the joke and failed to turn the ringer on my phone back on after I woke up so I didn't hear any of the calls or texts come in...it was really just a very, very large misunderstanding that she clearly isn't willing to accept at this point and probably won't anytime in the near future...
