that 4 foot pipe DEFINITELY works
Got all the bolts off the driver side head, only I cant take it off bec the accessory drive is still on, and its hard to get it off due to the fact that the length of some of the bolts on the brackets is longer than the space between the bracket and the radiator.
It went a little like this:
unbolt, YANK, THUD, CRAP i hit the radiator and the alternators still not off.. lol
So I'll have to take the radiator out too, who knows maybe I can get my hands on a big'n to keep this hot II cool
Also, I've made a deal with the Devil. Mom and dad don't like my bike, but I said I might be willing to sell it if I could put all of the proceeds towards my II. I'm thinkin either H/C/I/boltons or a blower. Probably the former though

Take the deal Arin. I don't like the bike much either. Too dangerous. Not because of you, but because of all the idiots out there you can't possibly guard against completely. Take the deal. Focus on the II!!!!

It all depends on how much I make off the bike. If its not enough for heads, then I'm not selling it.
And If I do sell it, I'm for sure getting another bike later on
anyhow, its time for today's updates. The heads are off, thanks to Mr. Pipe. I'm not sure if what I'm looking at is good or bad, so if anyone has anything to say about the condition of the heads, valves, pistons, anything, please speak up. I'm not as knowledgable as I'd like to think I am. There's also pics of the plugs. I won't be reusing them, but it could tell some tales about whats goin on in that combustion chamber

and just because they're so **** pretty:

told you the pipe would work
it looks to be in pretty good shape, while you're at it, I'd suggest replacing the gaskets, just for good measure, the cylinder walls look pretty good, from what I can see

Yeah and the craftsman ratchet took it like a pro
I'm going all new gaskets, and probably even all new bolts. No pitting or scoring at all on the walls. I was happy to see that. Should everything normally be so black? I'm running on the assumption right now that the car was running rich for a very long time

combustion isnt clean, especially with a carb setup, you could clean it out with a rag or something a little bit, make sure nothing is left in there though
Naw, throw it back together and dump a can of sea foam in it. Then run the snot outta it.
My Dad's ol 57 T-Bird's 312 Y block would get pretty badly carboned up, so we'd take it out and stick it in first, then floor it until redline... over and over and over...
That engine's carbon would fly outta the tailpipe, making a wretched cloud of smoke. After the 4th or 5th pass, it was good, and we'd wait for about a month and do it again.
I don't know why, but you could tweak and tweak and tweak the Holley that was on it and it would NEVER run right. If you didn't run it rich, it'd run too lean and screw the motor up. So rich it was.
Anyway, you're just seeing normal carbon on a carb car. Lean it up a smidge if you're worried about it, but I wouldn't. Looks fine to me overall.
/not a fan of Holleys.
//Not just one either. Several before it was given up on.
///IDK why not something else though... think nobody had anything that'd fit/feed it right or such.
////remembers careening about the neighborhood at about 11:30pm doing that stuff... that was stupid.

Yeah I was running a holley carb that constantly needed tuning. When it was right though.. boy was it right!
haha, so I just got back from San Jose, foxbody upper plenum in hand. I returned my old computer for store credit and got the new upper. I held on to the 95 upper because they only give you store credit
after that I went to get my wiring harness and computer form some other guy. the computer is the A9P and it was removed from a 1991 GT 5 speed. he also gave me the wires I'd need for my T5 if I ever do the swap
good day fellas, good day

I've been looking at alot of those "top end kits" that have Head/cam/intake packaged together. Theres the...
Trick Flow Twisted Wedge kit...
http://www.texashotrods.com/storefro...id=5320&dfid=1
Holley Systemax II
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...=hly-300-501-1
And the edelbrock power package... which I can't for the life of me find anywhere.
