Our deal with our kids is, however much $ you have for a car, we will match the amount. They are responsible for insurance, gas and basic maintenance. The day they can't pay insurance or gas, is the day they better find a ride. Right now my youngest (he's 15) has about $1,300, but won't be able to get his learners until July. He'll have to find something to learn to drive on, cuz none of them are allowed to drive my car (my oldest is excluded from my policy anyway, he's on MAIF) and my husband doesn't want them driving his F350.

My responsibility is going to be like 25-30 a month I believe. I can only count on $160 a month from work. Months I make more I'll pay a little more to insurance. Overall, my parents are being a great help, which I'll appreciate more after I get it of course

this may seem kinda backwards, I dunno if I'll let my mom drive the Stang, she's not to great with driving a stick anyway, and she thinks 150hp is "ALOOOOT", just imagine what she'll think about 300+; and I can't wait to go WOT with my dad one time, and see the look on his face

That's what I've told him almost verbatum.
He goes for his test on Friday. He too will be excluded from mystang. He is working at Fairhaven so he will drive Mamas car until he can save a minimum of $2500. He wants his car for summer so I'm giving him an insurance reprieve until then. I think that's fair.

I wouldn't mind going and buying one of the first day cars some day. They sold a beautiful '69 Chevy 350 Custom long bed with awesome paint for only $12,500.

Minimum 2500? I'd be here till summer too! I'll have 1500 after working Saturday. And if all goes well, I'll be ecstaticly broke

Luckily, my dad isn't that protective of his 'Stang. He loves it, but not to our extent. He's like an almost enthusiast. Wants more than what just gets him there, but doesn't wanna drop extra money on mods and such.
