For me I guess its just the depressing news. I can't think what else is different. But I can't pin it on one thing. I'm in a funk and I can't seem to get out of it. The country needs some good news for a change. I don't know that I'll be better of 5 years from now like I have in the past.

Sean you are getting closer and closer to the '88 RS V6 I used to have. I found a picture of it today. I've got to scan it in when I can get on the computer that has the scanner.

I know if I buy a car, the economy can go to hell (leave gas prices low) and I can still be happy. Working a farm has a certain bit of job security. And there's always work.

my job could go, but it wont happen for a while, I'm too valueable to the company. It's either pay me $10 an hour for 15-20 hours a week...or have chemists that make 75-350k take about 5 hours out of their week to do my job (times 18 for each of the labs)

...and they like me alot...I'm the man!

We are all more replaceable than we'll ever know I've discovered. But it's not just that. I don't see a Geore Bailey in my community. I don't see someone that puts personal responsibility and the good of others ahead of themselves. Everyone is so greedy. Everyone wants to sue somebody to get rich. Or get rich the fast way. Nobody wants to put in the effort and sacrifice. Well there are people who do and these people will always exist, but I see fewer of them than ever. I'm just becoming so cynical. I'm like Jerry Maguire. "We live in a cynical world. Cynical world."

I just cant imagine sitting around doing nothing. I feel like I have to work, I just wouldnt feel right getting paid and doing nothing. Work is frustrating sometimes, but it's all dissolved when people tell me that they think I do a great job, and that's what I strive for. I figure, if you don't do it right, what's the point? I try to be a George Bailey, I can't stand the people that only come to work for the breaks, and feel that they've been done a disservice if they have to stay after 5. For instance: I worked election day. I came in the day before after working my regular job, at 12. I stayed while everyone else went home, and finally left the office around 10. I got up the next morning about 3, got ready when to the office about 430, ran signs out to places that needed them. Was back by 6 am. Polls open at 7. Stayed on the phone all day, while doing other people's job because "they need a break." Prmoptly at 5 pm (polls close at 7 mind you) they have to leave, because they feel like they've worked hard. I was there until 12, drove home, and got up to do my regular job, and make up for the day that I missed. I'll stay until the job gets done, and I dont mess around on the clock. I hate the 30 minutes or so a day that I "waste" checking news and whatnot, but I figure that is more time for people to contact me if they've got a problem, before I leave. I dunno, I guess it was my dad that got me this way, the man works his butt off all day every day. People at work say I have a good work ethic, and I try my damdest to keep it that way.

I'm really not in the Christmas mood either. I think for me, it's all the stores and everything getting ready so darn early. It makes me sick and I never really get over it by the time christmas finally does come.

Sorry to here that Ed. I couldn't imagine a christmas without my grandma. Every year we go over to her house on christmas eve and have dinner and open presents. It's been that way since before I was born.

Here's a poem someone sent to my mom around christmas time a few months after her dad died:

My First Christmas in Heaven

I see the countless
Christmas trees
around the world below
With tiny lights, like Heaven's stars,
reflecting on the snow

The sight is so spectacular,
please wipe away the tear
For I am spending Christmas with
Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs
that people hold so dear
But the sounds of music can't compare
with the Christmas choir up here.

I have no words to tell you,
the joy their voices bring,
For it is beyond description,
to hear the angels sing.

I know how much you miss me,
I see the pain inside your heart.
But I am not so far away,
We really aren't apart.

So be happy for me, dear ones,
You know I hold you dear.
And be glad I'm spending Christmas
with Jesus Christ this year.

I sent you each a special gift,
from my heavenly home above.
I sent you each a memory
of my undying love.

After all, love is a gift more precious
than pure gold.
was always most important
the stories Jesus told.

Please love and keep each other,
my Father said to do.
I can't count the blessing or love
has for each of you.

So have a Merry Christmas and
Wipe away that tear
Remember, I am spending Christmas with
Jesus Christ this year
