We get a pair each year also. Unfortunately I haven't found a pair on the truck nearly as good as the ones I buy myself. So every couple years or so I buy my own and stack up the free pair in the closet. I probably have 4 pairs of brand new work boots in the closet right now.

Nah it's more likely a poorly negotiated labor contract lol... A new pair every six months is crazy IMO. But anyway....

It kinda is but everything we get off the trucks won't last a whole year either. I try my best to do as little work as possible but I still can't get a year out of the truck boots. Tried all the big brands they sell and still no luck. My Redbacks last me at least 3 years and are comfortable from day one.

It's not just boots. Try getting Matco/Snap-On etc tools to last these days...

Depends what you buy from them. Each one sells good stuff but you gotta mix and match. My ratchets and wrenches are snap-on. Everything else is mixed.
