Thanks for the support and info. The bad thing is I am renting the house and had to let my renters ins lapse due to being laid off from work and couldnt afford it. I did talk to the home owner and he is concerned about us and wants to make sure we are taken care of too. He already told me that pretty much 3/4 of the house inside is going to be replaced. All new sheet rock, sub-floors, new carpet, the whole house repainted, as well as if any stud or main structure has just a small amount of damage wiehter it be from fire or just smoke is gonna be replaced. He is also working with us as well as the realtor in finding a different place for us to stay until this one is fixed. He stated that we are more than welcome to come back to it. The fire fighters did an awesome job. They had 4 lines going from 4 different angles. The fire barely reached the rafters in the attic right when they got there so it didnt have any time to spread. They even said that if they were just a min later the house would have prolly been a total loss. They fought this fire in temps near zero and the water was freezing upon secs of hitting the roof and ground.

Ummmm according to the fire marshall that was a gas fireplace that was "converted" into a wood burning fire place. It had insulation and wiring around the walls of the chiminey. The fire started under and behind the fire box where I couldnt get to it with the fire extigiusher

Yeah plodding along pretty well. Thanx! Something rare called thymic carcinoma. Symptoms started in 09 but misdiagnosed till I changed docs 1.12. Then 2 open chest surgeries with chemo & radiation in between. All looked good & dead at first but then some recurrence last summer. So now I'm in a clinical trial at Stanford to see if a lung c chemo will work on TC. So far holding things in check, and the side effects aren't too bad. Mostly tired, voice is messed up (prob from radiation they think), hair & beard pretty thin, not enough nausea a good porter won't fix.
