That Kimber Super Carry II .45 (3" barrel) was screaming at me in the case but dayum... they sure are proud of that thing. ($850)

Yeah but it's a fine *** gun. I really want to build a custom 1911. There's just so many things you can do to those things.

Have you seen the Ruger SR1911 Commander? 4 1/4" (5" Government size too) Awful nice at medium price. $699

The 1911 has a ton of aftermarket parts to customize them. So pretty much anyone can make the right gun for themselves out of a 1911.

That's pretty. I really like the Springfield models as a starting point. Wide base and high capacity mags. Or maybe a Para Ordnance.

Buddy back in the day had a nice custom Colt - had it hard chromed. Indestructible.
