Nice to meet you too. Everybody else around here talks on their cell while they are driving, so you aren't alone. And your windows are really dark. I couldn't even see you sitting in it when I walked over, lol.

Really need to get some tint on Bettie! Think it's gonna run about 200EUR ($260). Not too bad, but have other stuff to worry about

Forgot how fun film was. Since you have to wait its sort of like opening a present to see what's inside. Seems like you usually get only 1 or 2 great ones but its worth it. Because the difference between film and digital is like the difference between an analog tube amp and a digital amp.

The lighting turned out great. Didn't want to get too much fire in the photo because it would have washed everything out. But the reflection off the subject turned out great. IMO It was dead dark out by now.

Fuji 200, Shutter speed 2, f/4.5, M focus. 5.24.12 bonfire.

definitely a cool pic!! I shoot digital just beacuse i dont know enough about film. My parents used to shoot weddings and stuff on film, remember them being in their dark room all the time as a kid.

Love film and the whole process! Probably my favorite class I ever took. Shoot digital now cause I'm horrible at dropping off film.

Well digital is sure cool cause you can plug it in right away and see. I'd like to have a DSLR but that's a lotta dough right now. Costco's got the Nikon D5100 package for $899 (w/55-300, 16mpix) and Canon has the T3i for $879 (w/55-250, 18mpix).
>>Thoughts as to Nikon v Canon? <<
I have a lot of fun with the point & shoot digi but missing SLR quality and features for photog hobby.

So I thought I'd run some film and see if I remembered. Riding a bike. Grew up on a Pentax 35 back when it was all manual. Pretty basic really... start at 125 and f8 - middle of the road settings, then adjust according to light meter and how you want the focus - close on the subject is smaller f stops, all in focus is larger f stops. Light meter tells you where to adjust the speed.

Never did any dark room stuff. Always thought about it but...

Mesa Boogie... ooooh... sweet stuff there.

Hate to shatter your memories of childhood innocence, but I guess its time. They weren't developing pictures in there.

Its pretty fascinating to me that they figured out film and developing in the 1800's. That's pretty high tech for those days when they were building the Iron Horse and barely had Henry Repeaters.

Me too. I think after they saw what a handful I was they decided that anymore like me would be more than they could handle.

Amazon has the D5100 for $646. Really sweet deal. Really wanted one but I decided I wanted suspension stuff more. Hopefully I can get one after I graduate next year.

Got the passenger front done, now on to the drivers side!

I love my nikon DSLR, granted mines an older D50 but i still love it. I can use all of their old lens on my camera with no problem but some of their newer DSLR's cant due to the lack of internal autofocus motor (nikon has gone to putting the motor in the lens itself recently). Nikkor glass has always been top notch but canon isnt bad either (look at treadhead's handheld night pics wth that low f/stop lens he has and its amazing)

I just like the color I can get out of my nikon without having to get into photoshop. Id really love a higher end model however.
