I know what you mean about the nurses forgetting. I had to wait for 6 hours for water. For some reason they kept forgetting that I asked for it. lol

Glad everything went well, hope you have a quick recovery!
Can't wait to get back home and be able to fire up the grill again!
Yeah surgery went pretty smooth. Good docs. Gonna have to do some chemo though ..!.
The first few days in CCU was pretty rough until they got the meds figured out. I kept bumping the 4 hr limit for something called dillodid. Then they'd fill in with percacettes until I could have more dillodid in the vein. That stuff worked fast and then I'd nod out again. I remember moaning every breath at first. They'd ask what my pain was on 1-10 - 10! Or when does it hurt? Only when I breathe. lol But then it settled it to a 5-7 range and as long as they'd stay up with the meds every 4 hours - rather than wait and play catch up.
So it hurts when you try to shift in bed, and when you cough - which they want you to do. Cough, inhale into their plastic device, full breath as possible to avoid any pneumonia. But towards then end I had periods with pain down at 1or 2. Couple of nurses wouldn't remember the 4 hr mark for more percs so then I'd be playing catch up.
I can't drive for 30 days but in a few weeks I hope to get a ride to the pub for happy hour and ask the gals "want to see my big 8"? lol Cause now I actually have one. (chest scar)
