We are still undecided if we should ship his truck out there. Its a '97 Ranger with over 150k miles. He can't get around on the island cuz he doesn't have any transportation. Still wondering if it would be better for him to stick it out for a lil bit and save some more money and sell his truck so he can buy something new. We didn't have any dirt bikes here when he was growing up, only four wheelers so he hasn't had much experience on a bike. That makes me nervous. I got my first dirt bike when I was 12, but I've never ridden a street bike.

He's got a few grand in the bank, but I wouldn't want him to buy anything new until he has at least $5k saved. I don't want him going into his first new vehicle and being up side down on his first loan. Then I worry about him shopping for one without having any clue what he's doing. Car salesmen would love to see an inexperienced 18 year old come through the door. I may need to co-sign to get him a better interest rate. Which is hard to do from this far away. I just don't know what we should do at this point.

He has never wanted a car, he is more of a truck kind of kid. He would really prefer a 150, but they are just too much money on an E1 salary. So he's been thinking about a Wrangler.
