I think I want a HO ProCharger. Especially seeing how I have the 4.10's.

The car has never pulled so hard, it's just crazy.

If I hadn't gotten such a good deal from Tom on his used Saleen I would have probably ended up with the non-intercooled Vortech and then added on to it as I went along later.

I was close to pulling the plug on that $3799 kit when Tom's deal came along.

Thank goodness he bought that bimmer.

Yeah the price on the the hair dryers is very tempting. The only other thing I would need is a set of CMDP. Then I would just have to find a local place to have a solid tune done. All in all it is still easily a 6-7K project. But that is far better than a Whipple, if done right costing near 10K. Of course this is talking new prices. You were quite lucky to find Tom's "gently used" Saleen.

Something like this is hard to buy used, you have to really trust the seller and know what you are getting. That is what made Tom's the perfect buy.

You have gauges installed too right? Boost, Fuel psi , Fuel/Air???

I just did a SOS a-pillar 2 gauge pod and went with boost and fuel pressure.

I trust the tune so a/f was something I decided to do without. From what I understood once the a/f is off under acceleration and pre-detonation occurs, there is nothing you are going to be able to do to stop the result. So instead of watching and worrying about a/f on a gauge I decided to trust the dyno tune and if it goes it goes.

Luckily for me Tom had it on the car for 2,000 miles I think, and obviously I could trust him. And when he had it installed and removed it was Brenspeed that did the work so they made sure to pack everything that was needed, and when I did need a couple parts they were helpful.

I am so very happy with my setup I feel lucky to have it. It's kind of like that good karma was paying off. You know what I mean?

Which you could also make yourself from your old ones.

I spent $500-550 (I think) on the dyno tune, and that was mainly because he was having trouble with the computer and the larger 90mm MAF I had in there. But my car was on the dyno there in Houston from 1:00pm till 8:00pm with the head tuner working on it that whole time. The only extra I had was when we ran the 3.4 pulley we were at 455rwhp so I ad him go to the 3.2 pulley and that's when we made the 479rwhp number. He charged me obviously for changing the pulley. Otherwise I think the set fee for the dyno tune was $450.

The guy that did it is not a very good businessman IMHO and lacked some organization, but his tune work was brilliant for me and for many I've talked to on other forums. I wouldn't hesitate to go back, but I was kind of nervous when I went in for my dyno appointment and he said you are supposed to be here tomorrow. I said I just drove 2 hours and I emailed you twice and you confirmed today. I had to show him the email on my phone and he seemed put out by having to do the work then. But once he got into it he really did what I think is a great job.

I talked to Chris (Knight) today. He sounds like a great guy on the phone too. He sounded normal, but to him I probably sounded like a redneck.

No I'm not getting a new car. His dealership had a part I wanted and he helped me get with the parts department and get it. Thanks Chris. I'm sending good karma your way. You will sell a car a day all week long now.

I won't be 'hitting' anything in my R thank you.

I may go to the track and drive on it though.

The R owners a really active in Houston. One has already asked me to join them the next time they go to Texas World Speedway. I might go and observe before I decide to track it.
