It's really quiet aside from the wind blowing through the trees, the distant sounds of birds and crickets, and the occasional cow mooing.

I was thinking the same thing. It's even weird in the western part of the same time zone. I was way out in NY once and it got dark there later than it did it home, but was still the same time.

i just find it so cool that my friend in Hawaii is eating dinner right now.......and then going to the beach i wish i had that kinda easy life!

There is a program called geoclock that I like. http://www.mygeoclock.com/geoclock/
You can run it and fast forward time and watch how the sun shines on different areas and how it changes through the days and months. Pretty neat!
