Hello I bought a 2019 Mustang GT off the showroom floor it's not my first Mustang I had an 05 and 06 as well. I don't know if it's because it only has less than a hundred miles but I can't Rev the car over 3000 RPM with it in first gear to dump the clutch. If I put it in neutral I can rev as high as I want. I do have HP tuners but I am in no mood to mess with a perfectly good car cuz it's my daily and I believe that the factory did a wonderful job on this car. Is there a trick to dumping this clutch to Drifting with this car what do I need to do?
Do you have launch control set? There would be an "LC" light on dash. If you have it set, the RPMs stay steady at the preselected RPMs before you dump the clutch. I believe the lowest setting is 3,000 RPMs, that may be the issue. If that is the problem, then you can increase the RPMs in launch control menu. Other than that, I have no other clue why you can't go higher. Or just deselect launch control settings.
3,000 RPM should be plenty for a good launch so I'm not sure why he wanted to rev higher than that . . . the world may never know
I beg to differ. If you want to do a old school smoky burnout without using line lock you need to dump at 4000 or higher to really light them up.
2200rpm is good for a quick launch, 3000 is good squeal and spin, 4000+ is pure smoke.
I used to to do this from time to time to leave the 2 solid black lines, then a short pause for a 1-2 shift, then more dark lines. You know. When I felt I just had too much thread on the rear tires
i miss that about the Mustang. In the BMW I need to do it at 5000 to get similar results, but than I get a lot of wheel hop.
