Staggered setup

Heya guys! I'm having issues picking the size for my staggered setup. I have 19x9.5 front and 19x10.5 rear. I think I might go with 255 front and 295 rear but im not sure pros and cons and what wall size should I go? Some people told me 40 front and 35 rear but Im not sure whats the reason the rear should be lower? Im at stock car height.

You want the overall diameter of the tires to be about the same front and back, and also about the same as the original tires . . . that is the reason for the different "aspect ratio" for the front and rear. The 35 or 40 number is the "aspect ratio" which is the sidewall height as a percentage of the tread width. You need a lower aspect ratio with a wider tire, to get the same sidewall height.

Check your original tire size in the door jam sticker; then look up that size and note the overall tire diameter. On most of these Mustangs it is 27.2"

Next look up the new tire size on Tire Rack (or anywhere that has the information) and check the diameter. Play with the sizes until the front and back are close to the same, and also close to the original.

295/35-19 for the rear and 255/40-19 for the front seems like a good set-up; both are 27.1" diameter, and pretty well matched to those wheel widths.

Thank you! I will be going for that setup!
